About Me
Shelby fosters a non-judgmental, warm, and authentic environment that supports change, growth, and safety to share. She values clients’ felt sense and lived wisdom and believes that the therapeutic process should be one of collaboration with the client’s needs and goals at its centre. Shelby has expertise supporting youth, teens, and adults through individual and group counselling.
Shelby specializes in supporting individuals through trauma processing using Internal Family Systems-Informed Somatic Trauma Therapy. Shelby also supports individuals as they navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, identity exploration, grief, and life transitions.
Working from a holistic and integrative lens with a focus on clients’ strengths, knowledge, and resources, she draws from a range of therapeutic orientations, including Internal Family Systems, Somatic and Polyvagal Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Shelby believes in tailoring her therapeutic approach to the client and what best supports their needs. She works from a decolonized, social justice-informed, trauma-informed, and client-centred approach in her counselling work.
Finding the right fit in a counselling relationship is important, and Shelby invites any interested clients to contact her for a consultation.
