Many youth face stress at the home, at school or within peer group dynamics. Therapeutic services provided at The Budding Elm provides children with a safe, nurturing environment where they are encouraged to use art and play to develop the skills needed to build resiliency. Our child-friendly and family-centered approach offers youth and their families an opportunity to strengthen connection, engagement and relationship.

Our child therapy approach at The Budding Elm begins with an initial assessment followed by implementation of varied tools, resources and practice approaches best suited to the child and their developmental level. Play is utilized as the window of opportunity to engage youth, increase their capacity to communicate, and build secure attachment. Our team uses sand-tray therapy and directive play therapy methods which include story-telling, painting and drawing, all of which help children to express themselves and resolve any concerning behaviours.
