ADULTS, COUPLES & FAMILY

Sydney Thompson

Sydney brings a blend of scientific understanding and genuine human connection to her counselling work. With a background in Biological Psychology, she integrates neuroscience-informed insights with evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Her approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate, helping clients navigate life’s challenges while staying connected to what matters most. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts and emotions, Sydney supports clients in building skills to respond to them differently: creating meaningful, values-aligned change even in the face of uncertainty.

Sydney works with individuals, couples, and families, supporting children, teens, and adults with anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, and relationship challenges. She has a particular passion for helping individuals with ADHD better understand their minds, reduce shame, and develop strength-based strategies. She also supports couples and families in strengthening communication and deepening connection.

Sydney is committed to providing inclusive, affirming care and proudly supports the LGBTQ2S+ community, creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered to show up as themselves.
