ADULTS, COUPLES & FAMILY
Sydney Thompson - Intern
Sydney brings both a scientific lens and a deeply human approach to counselling. With a background in Biological Psychology, she draws on evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy, while also incorporating Person-Centred and Adlerian perspectives to honour each client’s unique story. She believes healing happens in a safe, validating space where acceptance and change are carefully balanced.
She supports teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions, and has a special interest in couples, families, and providing gender-affirming care for the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Her years of travelling, living, and volunteering abroad have shaped her deep respect for diverse perspectives and what it means to live a meaningful life. Sydney is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University as part of her path to becoming a registered counsellor.
Outside of counselling, Sydney loves camping, being in nature, travelling, and sharing laughter. She balances her time between staying active and fully embracing the occasional couch-potato moment.
